Overview

MapClassAjax is an innovative web interface that lets you display raster maps using a JavaScript interface on a web-page. It is object-oriented and self-contained. It is flexible, fast and reliable. It can be included on a web-page to provide lightning fast map display, scroll over maps and change of map scale. If necessary, you can have multiple instances of MapClassAjax running.

  • MapClassAjax is a JavaScript API that will generate a view window of your geographical dataset for use on websites
  • Images drawn by tiling together smaller square tiles, requested from a back-end server by location and scale.
  • Pre-processing and tile splitting of raster data may be required
  • Back-end server can be a simple script to redirect co-ordinates and scales into an image URL or rendering solution such as MapClassLib
  • MapClassAjax can be supplied with raster data for display, and postcode or gazeteer data for lookups/jump to locations
