Software Development Stage 1

The Aim

The design stage is part one of the Graticule software development process. Here our developers aim to turn your ideas and requirements into a fesable software design, providing you with a quote and delivery estimate.

Your Ideas and Requirements

Customers come to Graticule with a wide range of requests, these can range from a simple idea to detailed technical plans, from the very basic to the outlandishly complicated - and we will look at all of them.

Your first contact can be either by telephone or e-mail. We would usually recommend e-mail which will give our development team a chance to investigate the options before getting back to you.

We understand that ideas are all important and that you might want to avoid giving away too many details on initial contact. We never provide any details to any third party without your express permission, but we are always happy to sign a NDA if you would be more comfortable.

Geographic Data

Most of the projects we develop require map data of some sort, including postcode data, road data and background maps. Graticule can provide map data of every type, for over 100 countries and can give detailed advice on which data is best for your requirements. Since Graticule can source the data directly from the supplier, you can cut out the middle man and save money.

Agreeing on a Solution

Some projects are very easy to agree on while others are more complicated - certain functions might prove highly complicated and too expensive to develop while others might not be possible at all. The Graticule development team will make sure to stay in touch with you through all these stages so that a suitable solution can be found to any problem.

Moving on to the Next Step

Before we begin any developement work, a full specification will be produced - this will outline all of the features of the software to be produced so that both parties are fully aware of what is expected. There is no obligation until this step when both parties will sign a contract confirming that the work should be done.

There can be a long break here - we are aware that approvals must be made at top management levels and it might take a while for a project to get the go-ahead. We are happy to answer any questions from the senior staff and we won't make any pestering sales calls.
