• Collins Bartholomew Global Vector Data

  • Designed by professional cartographers, these vector map sets are ideal for creating attractive and accurate digital maps on a national, international and global scale. They are optimised for use in digital mapping applications, and ideal for carrying out complex geographic analysis including spatial queries and routing. For this, features are heavily classified, with over 30 classes of road, and many classes of water-course.

    The maps are perfect for joining together more detailed national and regional maps.

    Each of the layers has been carefully prepared using a unique set of symbols, styles and colours in order to ensure that each layer is easily identifiable. The data is generally supplised in the WGS 84 datum with Longitude/Latitude co-ordinates in either Shapefile or MapInfo TAB format. Layer can be purchased individually.

    Designed and continuously maintained by the team who create the Collins Atlases, it is updated frequently from a maintained data source. Boundaries are rigorously checked and verified in order to give an accurate picture of World political geography as it is today.

    World Lite

    Competitively priced, quick and easy to implement, World Lite comes with the essential data layers to provide a solid background map, all to the same high quality standard as World Regular and Premium:

    Administrative Boundaries (with international borders and a detailed coastline), Contours and Towns (Capital Cities).

    World Regular

    Offering the same high level of accuracy, with a larger selection of data layers to add more detail and analysis options, World Regular is the ideal choice for most users. The following layers are included:

    Administrative Boundaries (with international and first order administrative boundaries, plus coastline), Contours, Drainage, Roads, Railways/Ferries, Towns, Text, Urban and Water.

    World Premium

    Perfect for the power users, World Premium also includes an 800,000 entry gazetteer for quick reference. The dataset is provided with the following layers:

    Administrative Boundaries (International boundaries and first order internal boundaries, including detailed coastlines), Contours, Deserts, Distances, Drainage, Heights, Lines, National Parks, Points (including oil wells, oases and tunnel mouths), Roads, Reserves, Rail/Ferries, Regional Parks, Towns, Text, Urban and Water.




• Collins Bartholomew World Scene Raster Data

  • World Scene is designed to provide a clear, accurate and authoritative overview map of the World, suitable for printing, or use on screen. The map is fully geo-referenced allowing you to combine it with other GIS applications.

    Using the same high quality images as the Collin's printed atlases, World Scene is ideal for any application that calls for general background maps of any part of the World.

    The World Scene images are provided as TIFF files with Lat. Long. co-ordinates or using the Mercator projection, and can be supplied for flexibly specified regions.

  
  
  
• Collins Bartholomew World Locator Gazetteer Data
  • Each entry includes Latitude and Longitude co-ordinates, plus over a dozen attributes.
  • Names are provided in original form, common English form and other common language variants where applicable.
  • Country of location is enhanced by first and second order administrative regions (eg. Counties) where available, and includes the international ISO codes.
  • Feature type is specified in text and numerical formats for all entries, including settlement classifications.
  • Heights for over 12,000 hills and populations for over 25,000 towns are also included.
  • World Locator is supplied as a standard ASCII CSV file.
